Krabat is a young wizard apprenticed to the Master of the Black Mill. He falls under the spell of his master’s devilish arts. Transformed into a raven, he soars high above the cornfields. It is a wonderful feeling, but the pleasure is short-lived. The discovery of a gruesome secret forces Krabat to flee. But there is no way out – until he hears the sound of a little girl singing and acquires a strength that is stronger than black magic.
A gripping and imaginative musical theatre production about good and evil, purity, friendship and love, in which musicians, performers and puppets bring the magical world of the black mill to life. Based on the classic children’s book Krabat – Master of the Black Mill by Otfried Preussler.
With brand new music inspired by the ancient choral traditions of Slovenia from composer Leonard Evers, evocative puppets by Slovenian artist Silvan Omerzu, a script by Marcel Roijaards and direction by Ulrike Quade.
A family performance for everybody from 7 years and older.
