Lea Ellemann
Lea Ellemann is an interdisciplinary artist, fashion designer and creative researcher. In her work she questions the (self-)healing capacity of humans and the influence that movement, in relation to textiles, has on this form of mental transformation.
She works from a background in dance and her current specialization in innovative textile design (3D printing & laser cutting). For this residency, she explores how a connection can be established between robotic and human movement, in combination with textiles and costumes.
How can we find healing in our own bodies? And can a robot help us magnify our emotions or even the sounds we make internally to initiate this healing process?
With this research, Lea explored what she understands by “the real” and also what are the real fears that trigger us and what are the real opportunities to feel at peace. By exploring the power of the KUKA, using it to suspend our bodies or letting it carry some of our weight, can we enter a peaceful state of mind that is different from our analogous methods in everyday life?
